In the current horticulture sector, everything revolves around making the right choices...
1.000 euro voucher campaign
With the HortiFootprint Calculator from MPS, growers gain clear insight into their environmental impact. This insight helps guide sustainability planning. To accelerate sustainability within the Dutch floriculture sector, Rabobank will introduce a voucher programme on 1 December that enables business customers in ornamental horticulture under glass to have part of the costs of a footprint calculation reimbursed. By redeeming this voucher with MPS and working with the HortiFootprint Calculator, growers will be well prepared for the increasing demand for transparency throughout the supply chain.
Insight as a basis for acceleration
The HortiFootprint Calculator by MPS uses extensive data that growers already record via MPS-ABC. This enables a complete Life Cycle Analysis to be carried out quickly and easily. Through integration with the LetsGrow.com dashboard, growers receive insight into their environmental impact within minutes. This insight leads to concrete improvement opportunities, offers comparison with peers and supports the substantiation of sustainability claims.
Prepared for tomorrow’s requirements
With rising sustainability expectations, such as CSRD and initiatives related to Science Based Targets, insight into emissions is becoming increasingly urgent. Rabobank also recognises footprinting as a logical step towards future proof business operations. With this one time voucher, Rabobank offers growers an accessible opportunity to take direction in sustainability planning, because without insight there is no direction. And without direction there is no acceleration.
Redeeming the voucher
Floriculture growers in greenhouse horticulture who are Rabobank customers can contact their account manager to apply for the voucher campaign. Submit your voucher to Rabobank and then contact MPS directly.

The HortiFootprint Calculator assesses the environmental impact of potted plants and cut flowers across their entire life cycle. This Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) covers the 16 impact categories and all 8 life stages of non-edible horticultural products, as specified by the FloriPEFCR. Recognized by the European Commission as the default calculation method, this approach offers comprehensive insights into your ecological footprint. It also enables you to evaluate and optimize various aspects of your business processes, helping you to further reduce your environmental impact.
MPS-ABC participants benefit from quick onboarding, since much of the required data is already available through the MPS-ABC record-keeping environment.
With the results from the HortiFootprint Calculator, you can see exactly which parts of your production have the most environmental impact, such as energy or water consumption. Based on this, you can implement improvements, for example by switching to sustainable energy sources or reducing waste.
Tailored to the unique needs of the floriculture industry, the HortiFootprint Calculator takes into account key sector-specific factors such as greenhouse usage, energy-intensive cultivation methods, and specialized transport requirements. The tool offers targeted analytical capabilities to account for these elements, ensuring a precise assessment of environmental impact.
